“He says he saw an alien, but I’m skeptical of his story.”
Someone who is skeptical overall does not believe things too easily. A skeptic probably doesn’t believe in aliens, the Loch Ness Monster or ghosts. You can also be skeptical about only a certain instance: “I believe in ghosts, but I’m skeptical about that sighting. The ghost wasn’t even transparent!”

全般的に疑い深い人は簡単に物事を信じません。疑い深い人なら宇宙人、ネッシー、幽霊など信じないでしょう。あるひとつの事実に限って疑うこともあります。「私は幽霊を信じているけど、あの目撃した話は怪しいと思う。その幽霊、透明じゃなかったし！」
