“It’s not what it looks like. I can explain!”
When something doesn’t make sense, it needs to be explained. For example, if you don’t know how to solve a problem in math class, you can ask the teacher for an explanation. If the explanation is good, you will then understand how to do the problem.
「この文をどんなつもりで書いたのかわからないんだけど。説明してくれる？」
「見た通りじゃないんだ（誤解だ）。説明できるよ！」
わからないこと、納得いかないことがあれば説明が必要です。例えば、数学の授業で問題の解き方がわからなければ先生に説明してもらいます。分かりやすい説明なら、その後は自分で解けるはずです。
