“Is everyone here? Okay, let’s get this show on the road!”
We use this phrase to say we are about to start work on something. It does not have to be a show. It can be anything that takes work: a meeting, a project, a presentation, a class. But it comes from the idea of a traveling show, such as a group of actors, musicians or circus performers, going on a tour. The performers must get “on the road” to go to the location of their next show.

このフレーズは何かを始めるときに使います。「Show 劇や見世物」という訳ではなく、会議、プロジェクト、プレゼンテーション、授業等、作業や仕事など何でもいいんです。この表現は、旅番組の中で町から町へと移動する劇団、音楽家、サーカスなどのショーからきています。出演者は「on the road」で次の町を目指します。
