Before you can use an electronic device (without a battery) you must plug it in to a socket in the wall. Televisions, computers, laundry machines, lights, and many other household electronics need electricity. Sometimes we need to move something, or we need to free up a socket for the vacuum cleaner, or we just don’t use something often. Then it’s a good idea to unplug it.
（電池が入っていない）電気製品を使うには、壁のコンセントにつなぐ必要があります。テレビ、コンピューター、洗濯機、照明など、多くの家庭用電気製品は電気を必要とします。電気製品を移動させるときや、掃除機のコンセントを抜くとき、あまり使わないものはコンセントを抜いておく（unplug）といいです。
