“Is the cake gone? I didn’t get any!”
“Don’t worry. There’s another cake in the kitchen.”
“Another” is used to show “one more” of a countable noun. You can see the parts “an” and “other” in the word. If it’s an uncountable noun, we usually use “some more” instead:
“Is there any more juice?”
“There’s some more in the fridge.”
「ケーキもうないの？まだ食べてないのに」
「大丈夫。台所にもう1つホールケーキがあるよ」
Another は数えられる名詞に使う「もう1つ」です。言葉の中に「an」と「other」がはっきり見えますね。数えられない名詞の場合は通常 some more を使います。
「ジュースまだある？」
「冷蔵庫にまだあるよ」
