The dog days are hot days in summer, during July and August in the Northern Hemisphere. The name comes from the Dog Star, Sirius. During the dog days, Sirius rises over the horizon at about the same time as the sun.
夏のとても暑い時期のことを「ドッグデイズ」と言います。北半球では７月～８月ですね。名前の由来は、おおいぬ座のシリウスです。ドッグデイズの時期には、シリウスが日の出とほぼ同じ時刻に現れます。
